Persons or companies registering for GST registration must present the following documents- PAN card, Aadhaar card, Photograph of the sole proprietor, Bank account details- a copy of the cancelled cheque or bank statement, Address proof of office- Rent agreement and No objection certificate (NOC) from the owner for Rented office and copy of electricity bill/landline bill/water bill/municipal khata copy/ property tax receipt for Own office.

Elaborating the Process

To take advantage of the input tax credit, any company, firm, or individual that buys, sells, or provides services must register under the Goods and Services Tax (GST). GST registration can be completed online at, where a Temporary Reference Number (TRN) is assigned to the application.

Fill out Form Part-A, which includes your PAN, mobile number, and email address, on the GST Online Portal. The Portal validates your information by sending an OTP/email. Please upload the necessary documentation. Go to Part B and fill out the form with the number you were provided. You will receive the Application Reference Number. Your documents are being verified by the GST Officer.

Within 7 working days, the GST Officer will either reject or accept your application. Additional proofs or clarifications must be provided if they are asked for. After all the questions have been answered, you will be assigned a GSTN number.
